Business Development Underwriter

About the role

As a Business Development Underwriter in the Portfolio Solutions team, you will help expand AIG’s presence in the SME segment by creating and optimizing Financial Lines insurance portfolios for brokers and authorized agents.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new Financial Lines portfolio arrangements and improve existing ones.
• Work closely with brokers and authorized agents to identify market opportunities and grow profitable business.
• Provide timely, proactive underwriting service and support distribution partners.
• Deliver accurate monthly management information on submissions, bind rate, premium statistics and growth targets.
• Identify best practices, improve service and product offerings, and support product development within AIG guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years underwriting experience in Financial Lines.
• Good understanding of the Dutch Financial Lines and authorized agents market.
• Strong communication, networking and relationship‑building abilities.
• Motivated, tenacious, proactive and accountable with a customer‑ and sales‑oriented mindset.
