Data Engineering Principal

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineering Principal to lead the design, development, and delivery of end‑to‑end data solutions for our clients. Based in Amsterdam, you will work with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into robust data pipelines, analytics products, and automated services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for data platforms, ensuring alignment with overall architecture and client objectives.
• Architect, build, and maintain scalable ETL processes on Microsoft Azure, leveraging Python, Spark, and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with data scientists to support the full data lifecycle—from acquisition and cleaning to analysis and visualization.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, coaching members on best practices, coding standards, and cloud‑native development.
• Ensure data‑warehousing solutions follow industry standards (ODS, data marts, data lakes, data vault, 3NF) and are integrated with version‑control systems such as GitHub.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proven track record of delivering complex ETL solutions on Azure.
• Strong understanding of data‑warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Experience leading technical teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
