E‑Bike Mechanic – Amsterdam

About the role

Workster is looking for a skilled E‑Bike Mechanic to join its urban mobility team in Amsterdam. You will be responsible for keeping a fleet of electric bicycles and light electric vehicles in safe, reliable condition, supporting daily city‑wide operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and servicing of e‑bikes, including motors, batteries, controllers, brakes, drivetrains and suspension.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, mechanical issues and software connectivity problems using diagnostic tools and technical documentation.
• Assemble new e‑bikes, conduct final quality checks and test rides before deployment.
• Replace and fit parts such as tyres, tubes, brake pads, cables and batteries while managing spare‑part inventory.
• Log work performed and fault findings in the maintenance system, recommending preventive actions.
• Collaborate with operations and customer support to prioritize urgent repairs across Amsterdam.
• Advise colleagues and customers on e‑bike care, safe operation and battery handling.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop and follow health‑and‑safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a bicycle mechanic, preferably with e‑bikes or light electric vehicles.
• Good understanding of electric drivetrain components, battery systems and basic electronics.
• Fluent in Dutch and comfortable communicating in English.
• Right to work in the Netherlands and flexibility for occasional early starts or weekends.
• Relevant vocational qualifications are a plus, but practical experience is valued.
