Media Strategy Director

About the role

As a Media Strategy Director at DEPT®, you will shape the media agenda for high‑profile global clients, turning business objectives into a comprehensive, full‑funnel media roadmap. Based in Amsterdam (and Rotterdam), you will lead complex, high‑stakes campaigns and ensure every media investment drives market dominance.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end media narrative, defining the strategic Media Agenda across brand and performance activities.
• Serve as the primary senior point of contact, managing relationships with C‑suite stakeholders and navigating complex corporate environments.
• Lead large‑scale activations such as international sports sponsorships and global brand moments, balancing strategic vision with day‑to‑day execution.
• Ensure operational excellence by translating strategy into executable, prioritized campaigns delivered with speed and quality.
• Orchestrate cross‑disciplinary collaboration between media, creative, influencer, and technology teams to deliver integrated full‑funnel experiences.
• Identify and pursue commercial growth opportunities, contributing to new business development and agency positioning.

Required profile

• Senior‑level media strategist or director with extensive agency experience managing large, complex global or regional accounts.
• Proven full‑funnel media expertise across digital and traditional channels (e.g., digital TV/CTV, influencer marketing).
• Strong stakeholder management skills with political sensitivity and the ability to build consensus in multi‑stakeholder organisations.
• Exceptional communicator, able to present complex strategies to senior client leadership in a clear, persuasive manner.
• Fluent in both Dutch and English, capable of leading strategic discussions in both languages.
