Senior Petrophysicist and Rock Physicist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Petrophysicist and Rock Physicist to join GeoSoftware’s EACIS team, working on consulting projects and delivering advanced petrophysics, seismic petrophysics and rock physics solutions for clients in the Netherlands or the United Kingdom.

Key responsibilities

• Execute consulting projects covering conventional petrophysics, seismic petrophysics and rock physics modelling.
• Design and deliver training courses on petrophysics and rock physics to customers.
• Prepare service bids, project proposals and technical presentations for clients.
• Develop and implement best‑practice workflows for integrated petrophysics and rock physics modelling.
• Collaborate with regional sales, marketing and technical teams to grow consulting services and software sales.
• Publish technical papers and present webinars at conferences and internal events.

Required profile

• European work permission and a MSc or PhD in Petrophysics or Rock Physics.
• Minimum 10 years of technical experience in well‑log QC, petrophysical evaluation, rock physics modelling and seismic calibration.
• Track record of published papers in recognized journals or conferences.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to build trusted advisor relationships with customers.

Required skills

• Seismic petrophysics, reservoir petrophysics and rock physics modelling.
• Well‑log data QC, conditioning and deterministic/statistical petrophysical evaluation.
• Integration of core measurements (RCA/SCAL) with logs and facies classification.
• Rock physics theory, diagnostics, uncertainty analysis and inverse modelling.
• Fluid substitution, scenario modelling and AVO modelling.
• Sonic data QC, processing, interpretation and checkshot/VSP analysis.
• Borehole image and NMR data processing.
• Time‑lapse (4D) and anisotropic rock physics modelling.
• Experience with PowerLog, RPM and Rock SI software.
