Senior Project Associate – Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior Project Associate to lead partnerships and stakeholder engagement with private‑sector partners, academic institutions and national authorities. The role supports IOM’s mandate to promote humane migration and to mobilise resources and visibility at national and EU level.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, outreach and follow‑up with corporate, foundation and business partners to support private‑sector engagement activities.
• Prepare background notes, briefing materials and engagement plans for existing and prospective partners.
• Identify joint initiatives, pilot projects and funding opportunities aligned with IOM’s mandate.
• Organise roundtables, networking events, donor briefings and partnership meetings.
• Support institutional engagement with national authorities involved in the asylum and migration chain (e.g., IND, DT&V, COA).
• Develop outreach and information‑sharing activities for political stakeholders, including parliamentarians and relevant committees.
• Maintain regular liaison and structured dialogue with national authorities, preparing briefing notes and talking points for meetings.
• Contribute to the preparation of briefing materials for IOM’s national implementation activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma with six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Economics, Development Studies, Law or a related field with four years of experience.
• Proven experience working with private‑sector actors, foundations, donors or business networks.
• Experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, fundraising or innovative financing is an asset.
• Previous experience in an international, UN or development/humanitarian organization is advantageous.
• Fluency in English and Dutch (oral and written) is required.
• Strong coordination, drafting and analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
• Understanding of the Dutch private‑sector and innovation ecosystem.
