Software Engineer III (Full Stack)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer III to join our Agile team in Amsterdam and help build the next‑generation platform that enables researchers to transfer their manuscripts during submission. This hybrid position combines hands‑on development with close collaboration with product and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud‑hosted distributed applications for the manuscript transfer product.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and provide rapid feedback.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that ensure system stability and performance.
• Identify and implement enhancements to improve delivery processes.
• Partner with cross‑functional Agile and DevOps teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with Git version control and modern IDEs (IntelliJ, VS Code).
• Familiarity with test‑driven development using tools like Jest and Mockito.
• Comfort with collaborative tools such as Jira and Confluence and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Willingness to learn AI‑assisted coding tools and agentic software development concepts.
