About the role

The AI Forward Deployed Engineering (AI FDE) team at Databricks helps customers design, build, and productionize cutting‑edge GenAI applications. This customer‑facing role blends deep technical expertise with strong consulting skills to deliver AI solutions that create real business value.

Key responsibilities

• Develop state‑of‑the‑art GenAI solutions using the latest Databricks AI research.
• Own end‑to‑end production rollouts of consumer‑ and internal‑facing GenAI applications.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers across diverse domains.
• Present at conferences such as the Data + AI Summit and serve as a thought leader.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence roadmap priorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience building GenAI applications (RAG, multi‑agent systems, Text2SQL, fine‑tuning) with tools like HuggingFace, LangChain, and DSPy.
• Hands‑on industry data‑science background using pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch, etc.
• Experience deploying production‑grade ML workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites every 4–8 weeks.
