About the role
Adyen is looking for Java Software Engineers to help build and improve its global payments platform. You will work on the full development cycle, from design and testing to production, focusing on high‑throughput, reliable services that process millions of transactions daily.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain a distributed, high‑performance payment processing platform.
- Design, implement, and launch new features that impact merchants and shoppers worldwide.
- Identify and improve parts of the platform to increase robustness and scalability.
- Collaborate across teams and time zones, review code, and incorporate feedback.
Required profile
- Experience with Java, web services, REST APIs and SQL/PostgreSQL.
- Background in deploying high‑throughput, highly reliable services.
- Proactive ownership mindset with strong communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate trade‑offs and balance speed with technical debt.
- Enjoy working on a global product that impacts millions of users.
