Staff Backend Product Engineer (Go, Java)

About the role

Dash0 is looking for a Staff Backend Product Engineer to shape the technical future of its observability platform. You will lead the architectural vision of the Revenue Engineering team, building a usage‑based billing system that powers transparent pricing for developers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own the backend architecture for metering, billing, and cost‑control.
• Implement reliable data pipelines that count events, sync with Stripe and cloud marketplaces, and generate accurate invoices.
• Drive platform reliability, proactively manage risks, and foster a security‑first culture.
• Define standards for code quality, testing, and observability across the team.
• Mentor engineers, review product requirements for technical feasibility, and simplify complex designs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading backend architecture for large‑scale, data‑intensive services.
• Strong expertise in Go and Java development.
• Hands‑on experience with usage metering, billing systems, and payment provider integrations (e.g., Stripe).
• Track record of improving reliability, monitoring, and security in production environments.
• Ability to mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction.
