Android Developer – Hybrid (Amsterdam)

About the role

DEPT® is looking for an Android Developer to join its Experience & Engineering team in the Netherlands. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑quality Android applications for clients such as Gant, Inter Milan, bol.com and Just Eat Takeaway, delivering engaging digital experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and deliver high‑quality mobile applications.
• Translate complex design specifications and client requirements into functional Android features.
• Continuously improve app performance, usability, and reliability.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and propose innovative solutions.
• Ensure code quality by following SOLID principles and MVVM design patterns.
• Participate in the full mobile development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
• Take ownership of the product, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Mentor junior developers and foster knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Familiarity with SOLID principles and MVVM architecture.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams.
