Backend Software Engineer – Azurion Eye

About the role

Join Azurion Eye—an integrated, AI‑enabled clinical software platform embedded in the Azurion ecosystem. As a Senior Web back‑end developer within the AI Operator domain, you will build REST‑based, microservice‑first backend services and data curation workflows that power our clinical data lake and data movement tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to engineering best practices and mentor junior engineers.
• Design and build secure, compliant backend services and microservices supporting clinical data platforms and data movement.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and maintain the data lake architecture to ensure performance, governance, and reliability.
• Ensure system quality through code reviews, performance optimization, testing automation, CI/CD, and observability.
• Maintain operational excellence by integrating components and resolving production issues such as ingestion failures, schema drift, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (product, UX/design, QA, data/AI, and engineering) to define, design, and ship features aligned with clinical and platform needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of end‑to‑end software development experience, including design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong backend expertise in Golang and REST API design (Swagger/OpenAPI) with focus on reliability, resilience, and observability.
• Experience with event‑driven architectures (e.g., NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ), Linux environments, and containerized microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid database design and performance tuning skills (PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and familiarity with cloud‑native and DevOps practices.
• Strong collaboration and leadership abilities, with a capacity to mentor engineers and work effectively in agile, regulated environments.
