Cook (On Call) – Italian Restaurant

About the role

We have a fantastic position for a Cook in our restaurant Ristorante 51 at Courtyard Amsterdam. As a Cook you’re on the first rung of the ladder to becoming a great cook, giving you a big chance to learn all there is to know about the trade.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, portion, chop, store and wash fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients and prepare cold foods.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and test for doneness.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and monitor appliance and food temperatures.
• Set‑up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions and maintain a clean, disinfected kitchen area.

Required profile

• Flexible, creative and passionate about food.
• Team‑spirit with at least 1 year of kitchen experience.
• Fluent in English and able to work in all kitchen areas.
• Ambitious to grow within the company and adaptable to hospitality situations.
• Well‑organized, stress‑resistant and able to handle pressure.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques such as portioning, chopping and measuring.
