Data & AI Governance Lead

About the role

As the Data & AI Governance Lead you will shape the trusted data and responsible AI foundation for a global maritime organization, ensuring that data quality, security and compliance are embedded in daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Data & AI Governance capability, managing a team of Data Stewards, MDM Product Owner, Project Manager and AI agents.
• Develop and maintain the governance framework, defining roles, decision‑making structures and standards for data and AI.
• Drive data quality improvement, increase visibility of issues and establish sustainable processes for critical data domains.
• Collaborate with business, IT, security, privacy, analytics and AI teams to align governance with architecture and data products.
• Ensure data is classified, secured and trusted for AI use cases, supporting responsible AI governance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Data Governance, Master Data Management or Enterprise Data Management within complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata, lineage and lifecycle management.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and translate strategy into measurable results.
• Experience driving adoption, change management and building communities of data owners and stewards.
• Preferably background in manufacturing, engineering, supply‑chain or similar environments.

• AI governance principles (classification, access control, trusted sources)
