Data Engineer

About the role

As a Data Engineer at Lionsville you will ensure data is trustworthy and ready for intelligent applications across maritime, logistics, industry and critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end path from operational systems into platforms that drive business decisions.
• Write data contracts against real payloads, defining field meaning, freshness and provenance.
• Build and orchestrate pipelines that handle extraction, transformation, incremental loads, idempotent reprocessing and out‑of‑order data.
• Work across diverse stacks – batch and streaming, SQL and NoSQL, data warehouses and lakes, cloud‑agnostic and on‑premises environments.
• Implement data‑quality checks and monitoring to surface stale feeds or missing critical inputs.

Required profile

• Ownership, solution‑bias and clear communication; comfortable working across organisational boundaries.
• Strong architecture capability for data platforms with documented trade‑offs.
• Deep data‑engineering experience (ETL/ELT, orchestration, scheduling, fluent SQL, streaming and batch).
• Experience working agentically with AI tools and understanding their limitations.
• Ability to design complex data models, manage schema versioning and treat data contracts as promises.
