Data Science Internship – Multidimensional Market Modelling

About the role

Join Philips Image Guided Therapy Systems as a Data Science Intern and help build a multidimensional market reconciliation model. You will work with the Marketing Insights & Analytics team to turn complex market data into a coherent, actionable view for strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing market segmentation methodology, datasets and assumptions and translate the business challenge into a statistical modelling framework.
• Research and evaluate approaches such as iterative proportional fitting, constrained optimisation, entropy‑based methods and Bayesian techniques.
• Develop and validate a model that combines existing estimates with multiple market observations, accounting for data availability and confidence levels.
• Design a methodology to dynamically incorporate new information while keeping a consistent overall market view.
• Establish validation methods to assess model accuracy, stability and robustness, and document findings for business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics and quantitative modelling with attention to data quality and reproducibility.
• Ability to explain complex quantitative concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders and work collaboratively in English.

What we offer

• Monthly allowance of €500‑€700 gross (pro‑rata for part‑time).
• Housing compensation (€300 net for Amsterdam vicinity, €255 net elsewhere) and travel compensation up to €192 net.
• Paid holidays during the internship term.
• Hybrid work model with at least three days per week onsite in Amsterdam or Best.
