Direct Tax Specialist

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a motivated Direct Tax Specialist with around three years of professional tax experience to join its EMEA Tax team. The role supports direct tax compliance, accounting, reporting, audits and projects across multiple European, Middle‑East and African jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate income tax returns for EMEA jurisdictions and coordinate with external advisors.
• Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, supporting schedules for current and deferred tax.
• Respond to tax authority inquiries and audits, collecting documentation and maintaining audit files.
• Support cross‑border tax projects, including Pillar Two, transfer pricing implementation and withholding tax optimisation.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, payroll, treasury, legal and transfer‑pricing teams to provide practical tax guidance.
• Contribute to process improvements and tax‑technology initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fiscal Economics, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Approximately 3 years of tax experience in a Big Four, multinational corporation or tax advisory practice.
• Basic understanding of corporate income tax, tax accounting, international taxation principles and transfer‑pricing concepts.
• Fluent English; Hebrew is a plus.
• Strong numerical, written and verbal communication skills.
