Director, Services Business Development – Retail & Commerce (Dutch)

About the role

Mastercard Services is expanding its presence in the Netherlands and seeks a Director to lead business development across Retail and Commerce organisations. The role focuses on building executive relationships, uncovering commercial opportunities, and aligning Mastercard’s portfolio of data, security, consulting and loyalty solutions with customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Drive growth of Mastercard Services within retail, e‑commerce and fintech accounts in the Dutch market.
• Develop and nurture executive‑level relationships with major merchants and partners.
• Identify new commercial opportunities, build a qualified sales pipeline and lead customer discussions to align solutions with business priorities.
• Collaborate with specialist sales teams to bring relevant expertise into engagements.
• Promote the full Services portfolio, including data & insights, security, payment consulting and loyalty solutions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to shape sales strategies and support opportunity execution.
• Stay informed on market trends and contribute to the Dutch growth strategy.
• Represent Mastercard at customer meetings, industry events and commercial discussions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in business development, enterprise sales or consulting.
• Proven ability to work with senior decision‑makers in large organisations.
• Strong track record of creating and growing commercial opportunities in complex sales environments.
• Experience engaging customers in the Retail & Commerce sector or advising organisations operating in those markets.
