Dutch Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) Consultant

About the role

CYPFER is a leading first‑responder cybersecurity organization that helps clients quickly resume business after a cyber‑attack. As a global market leader in ransomware post‑breach remediation, the company works with major insurance carriers, law firms and Fortune 1000 businesses. The Dutch DFIR Consultant will join a high‑performing team to deliver rapid incident response and forensic services.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with insurance partners, legal counsel, client executives and technical teams to coordinate incident response.
• Collect forensic artifacts, disk and memory images from physical and virtual endpoints using standard tools.
• Perform Windows and Unix/Linux forensics, triage compromised systems and analyze logs for indicators of compromise.
• Apply mitigation strategies, build event timelines and correlate data across the cyber‑kill‑chain.
• Stay current on emerging threats, malware analysis techniques and threat‑intel research.

Required profile

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of information‑security best practices and incident‑response methodologies.
• Work independently, produce high‑quality deliverables with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong customer‑service and consulting skills.
• Document findings clearly, draft reports and communicate effectively in challenging client situations.

Required skills

• Bilingual English and Dutch.
• 2+ years of experience in digital forensics or incident response.
• Proficiency with Windows, Unix/Linux, EDR/EPP technologies and forensic acquisition of physical and virtual systems.
• Knowledge of storage technologies (RAID, NAS, SAN, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NFS) and log analysis.
• Familiarity with malware analysis tools, SIEM/SOAR solutions, e‑discovery tools and mobile device forensics.
