Foreman Pipefitter

About the role

We are looking for a Foreman to lead our pipe fitting department at Niron Staal Amsterdam, part of the Damen Shiprepair group. The role involves supervising pipe fitters and TIG welders on heavy steel construction and maritime projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare work sequences, capacity planning and ensure tools and materials are available.
• Allocate tasks according to schedules and monitor quality and quantity.
• Lead a team of pipe fitters and TIG welders, ensuring competent performance.
• Maintain workplace safety and comply with company regulations.
• Keep the work area clean and provide clear instructions and guidance.
• Monitor progress, quality and report issues promptly.
• Apply personal knowledge, stay up‑to‑date and contribute to efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• MBO level education.
• At least 5 years experience in steel construction, preferably maritime.
• Ability to read drawings independently.
• Willingness to work evenings or weekends and travel to other yards.
• Possession or willingness to obtain a VCA VOL certificate.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills in Dutch and/or English.
• Leadership, motivational and team‑player attitude.
