Galileo 2nd Generation Navigation Signal Engineer (On Site)

About the role

Join Airbus’s elite Space Navigation team at ESTEC in Leiden and contribute to the development and verification of the next generation of Galileo navigation signals.

Key responsibilities

• Support system design evolutions for navigation signals and receiver aspects, translating mission requirements into system specifications.
• Define, implement and maintain signal performance analysis tools; run simulations and trade‑off studies on signal generation, propagation and distortion.
• Conduct deep‑dive analyses of receiver acquisition, tracking, PVT processing, authentication and system integrity.
• Plan and execute laboratory experiments and on‑field verification campaigns, analysing measurement data to support trade‑offs.
• Monitor implementation of Signal‑In‑Space (SIS) requirements across satellite, ground and user segments.
• Present technical results to national and international customers and partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Navigation, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience on space projects, preferably with Galileo or other GNSS systems.
• Strong knowledge of GNSS signal analysis, digital signal processing (CDMA), modulation and navigation receiver algorithms.
• Advanced proficiency in Matlab, Python and/or C/C++.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work autonomously in an international team.
• Eligibility for a valid Personal Security Clearance.
