Human Resources Intern

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a motivated Human Resources Intern to support its HR team in the Netherlands. Working under the Chief of Mission and supervised by the Senior Human Resources Associate, the intern will gain practical experience in HR administration, records management, and data protection.

Key responsibilities

• Develop practical knowledge of HR personnel records management, ensuring files are complete, accurate, and up‑to‑date.
• Gain hands‑on experience in electronic records management by scanning, indexing, classifying, and uploading HR documents according to IOM standards.
• Understand confidentiality and data‑protection requirements in an HR environment and demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s program or a recent graduate (within 12 months) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
• Age between 20 and 36 years and less than two years of relevant work experience.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are evaluated during selection.

Required skills

• Experience with records management or HR administration (asset).
• Familiarity with Oracle or another HR information system (advantage).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic filing/document‑management systems.
