Junior Site Project Engineer (Field Engineer)

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Site Project Engineer to join a major industrial decarbonisation project in the Netherlands. This full‑time, on‑site position offers the chance to work closely with engineering, construction, and international teams while gaining valuable field experience.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field engineering activities on site, collaborating with the engineering office and construction company.
• Manage document control, deliverable reviews, drawing checks, and resolve engineering/construction clashes.
• Monitor engineering progress and contribute to updates of the project schedule (L3).
• Proactively follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of deliverables.
• Plan, monitor, and report permitting activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Verify that construction activities meet regulatory and permitting requirements.
• Act as the on‑site interface between engineering, construction, and international teams.
• Participate in Quantity Surveying activities, checking executed quantities against subcontractor declarations.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, electromechanical, civil, construction, industrial or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial or infrastructure projects (engineering, construction, or site‑based roles).
• Initial experience in field engineering, coordination, or construction is an advantage.
• Strong interest in on‑site activities and ability to work in a matrix, multicultural environment.
• Fluent in English.
