Lab and Facility Operations Engineer – MEMS (Delft)

About the role

Applied Materials is expanding its Delft facility and seeks an experienced Lab and Facility Operations Engineer for its MEMS laboratory. The hands‑on position ensures the lab and cleanroom run smoothly, safely and efficiently while supporting engineering activities and maintaining infrastructure reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day lab and cleanroom operations, maintaining organization, tooling and consumables.
• Support installation, setup and commissioning of lab equipment and ensure uptime of systems.
• Perform hands‑on lab work, experiments and engineering activities.
• Maintain compliance with safety, EHS and cleanroom protocols.
• Operate facility infrastructure such as vacuum, gas, exhaust and utilities.
• Coordinate upgrades and modifications with internal teams and suppliers.
• Track and support preventive maintenance activities and act as contact point for facility issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a laboratory, cleanroom, pilot production or technical operations environment.
• Hands‑on technical background with strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience supporting equipment, infrastructure or facility systems.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of operational topics.
• Technical education (MBO+, HBO or equivalent).
