Manager Civil

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Manager Civil to lead all civil activities within Damen Civil & Modular Constructions. You will head a team of around 20 engineers in the Netherlands and a similar number abroad, reporting directly to the director and overseeing daily operations, project execution and product line development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inspiring leadership and coaching to a global civil team.
• Manage risks and ensure successful delivery of large projects overseas.
• Coordinate regularly with the commercial project department.
• Monitor project milestones, planning and budgets, addressing obstacles promptly.
• Maintain and develop business lines, including training, consultancy and yard management.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.
• Maintain relationships with external civil partners and suppliers.
• Contribute to construction strategies and manufacturability of new projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience managing civil departments.
• 5–7+ years of experience leading civil projects and departments.
• Strong communication skills and intercultural sensitivity.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as IFS or SAP.
• Good command of MS Office, including MS Project and SharePoint.
