Mechanical Engineer - Paper Converting Machinery

About the role

Cross Border Talents is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for its client in The Netherlands, an international company with more than 500 employees worldwide. The client makes innovative solutions for protecting products and is looking for someone to help design and develop paper converting machinery, fully automated machines and related equipment. You will be responsible for the design, development and documentation of the project's mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Work as part of a collaborative engineering team, applying mechanical engineering principles to develop design solutions
• Confirm mechanical component capabilities and quality by designing test plans
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations and check drawings for accuracy
• Work with vendors and suppliers to select components and subassemblies that meet machine requirements
• Troubleshoot equipment in-house and at customer sites
• Develop operation manuals and other documentation
• Design concepts and layouts using SolidWorks, support prototype builds and release products into production
• Assist with NPD projects, custom products, maintenance, quality improvements and cost reduction

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
• 4-10 years of related mechanical engineering experience
• Good oral and written English; Dutch and German are an advantage
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time

Required skills

• SolidWorks
• Knowledge of CE standards and machine guidelines
• Knowledge of production processes and automation technology
• Affinity with electrical engineering
