Medior Backend Developer (Python) – Amsterdam

About the role

As a Medior Backend Developer at PwC, you will design and build innovative digital products, including data‑intensive applications and AI‑driven solutions, working within an agile, self‑steering team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend functionality for innovation products using Python (Django and/or FastAPI).
• Translate designs and user stories into working software and deliver features end‑to‑end, including testing and deployment support.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services, and integrate them with frontend components.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable, and scalable code, accompanied by unit tests and integration testing.
• Perform peer code reviews, troubleshoot bugs, and improve performance.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and Agile/Scrum events.
• Document technical decisions and implementation details.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• User‑centric mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, agile teams.
