PCB/RF Design Engineer

About the role

QuantWare is developing next‑generation 3D quantum hardware that operates from room temperature down to millikelvin conditions. As a PCB/RF Design Engineer you will lead the creation of critical microwave components, high‑density cryogenic‑compatible PCBs, and novel packaging solutions for large‑scale quantum processors.

Key responsibilities

• Design electromechanical components that interface QPUs and TWPAs, collaborating with packaging and product design teams.
• Develop high‑precision PCB, silicon chip layout, and PCB‑to‑chip interconnects within the vertical VIO architecture using CAD tools.
• Address RF challenges such as insertion loss, impedance matching, and cross‑talk at both PCB and package levels.
• Engineer cryogenic integration, validate performance from room temperature to millikelvin, and run cooldown/characterisation tests in dilution refrigerators.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering with a focus on PCB and RF/Microwave design.
• 4+ years of hands‑on PCB design experience using KiCAD, Altium Designer, or Cadence.
• Experience with cryogenic hardware or low‑temperature RF systems.
• Strong understanding of schematics, electro‑mechanical interfaces, signal integrity, and impedance analysis.
