Principal Data Scientist

About the role

Metyis is growing and seeks a Data Science Principal with over 8 years of experience to join its Data and Analytics team in Amsterdam.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client interactions and build lasting relationships while translating business problems into analytical solutions.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, preparing presentations, and coordinating external stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and orchestrate the work of the entire team.
• Identify new opportunities beyond current project scope and drive growth for the team.

Required profile

• Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., econometrics, AI, mathematics, physics).
• Sharp analytical thinking with the ability to distill key insights from complex data.
• Proven project‑management experience and ability to lead senior‑level consulting engagements.
• +8 years of consulting or relevant industry experience, with at least 3 years at a project‑lead level.
• Excellent communication skills and professional fluency in English.

Required skills

• SQL, BigQuery, NoSQL databases
• Python and R programming
• Data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
• Machine‑learning techniques and statistical modeling
