Process Specialist

About the role

As a Process Specialist at Novartis in Baarle‑Nassau, you will work on the manufacturing of radiopharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with SOPs, batch records and regulatory standards. The role involves operating specialized equipment, handling radioactive materials safely, and supporting continuous improvement in a shift‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute manufacturing activities for radiopharmaceutical products following approved procedures and documentation.
• Operate production equipment and perform chemical processes such as electrolysis and chromatography.
• Prepare chromatography columns and support target ampoule preparation.
• Perform line clearance, cleaning, and equipment preparation activities.
• Identify and escalate production deviations, resolve first‑line equipment or process failures.
• Maintain accurate batch documentation in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
• Handle radioactive materials safely and verify products are free from contamination.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support production optimisation projects.
• Act as Deputy Shift Supervisor and support daily shift operations when required.

Required profile

• Vocational or higher professional degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, medical laboratory sciences or related field.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a controlled production environment.
• Strong analytical skills with a detail‑oriented approach.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a shift‑based manufacturing environment.
• Ability to obtain Radiation Protection Supervisor Level D certification within the first year.
