Project Estimator – Ship Repair & Conversion

About the role

As a Project Estimator at Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen you will prepare accurate cost estimates and technical proposals for ship repair, maintenance and conversion projects. You will assess customer inquiries, inspect vessels and work with multidisciplinary teams to develop competitive quotations.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and determine the required scope of work.
• Inspect vessels and project sites to assess technical requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for repair, maintenance, and conversion projects.
• Develop and validate technical and logistical solutions for project execution.
• Obtain quotations and commercial terms from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support the commercial team during negotiations and project acquisition activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Several years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore or a project‑driven technical environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with commercial awareness.
• Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
