Quantum Measurement and Calibration Engineer – Automated Calibration

About the role

QuantWare is seeking a Quantum Measurement and Calibration Engineer to develop automated calibration software for its quantum processors. The role sits at the intersection of quantum physics and software engineering, focusing on production‑grade Python tools that streamline QPU bring‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain automated Python software for resonator spectroscopy, crosstalk matrices, single‑ and two‑qubit gate calibration, and readout optimization.
• Ensure code quality through modular design, automated testing with PyTest, CI/CD pipelines, documentation and version control.
• Own the full software lifecycle from concept through validation, review and integration into production workflows.
• Collaborate with software engineers, experimental physicists and production teams to gather requirements and continuously improve calibration routines.

Required profile

• PhD or Master’s degree (with ≥2 years relevant industry experience) in Physics, Quantum Information, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• ≥2 years hands‑on experience with cryogenic measurement of multi‑qubit superconducting processors, including two‑qubit gate calibration.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience writing clean, modular scientific code.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices such as OOP, Git, code review and testing frameworks.
