Regional Counsel – Northern Europe & Benelux

About the role

As Regional Counsel for Northern Europe, Benelux, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal support to Stryker’s business, primarily covering the Benelux area with exposure to Nordic matters. You will work closely with commercial leadership and cross‑functional teams to enable compliant growth and manage legal risk.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to the Benelux business, delivering timely legal advice to support growth.
• Support selected Northern Europe and Nordic matters, including cross‑country projects and strategic initiatives.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements such as tender, framework, equipment, service, pricing, distribution and healthcare contracts.
• Provide guidance on applicable laws, regulations and Stryker policies, especially in healthcare, public procurement and professional interactions.
• Assist with dispute management, investigations, product/service legal issues and operational matters.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and compliance risks together with Compliance, including training and contract process improvements.
• Collaborate with sales, finance, HR, RAQA, market access and divisional counsel to ensure compliant execution.
• Work with EMEA/global legal teams and external counsel on strategic contracting, data privacy, IP, litigation, employment and regulatory issues.
• Contribute to regional legal initiatives, knowledge sharing, trainings and continuous improvement of governance processes.

Required profile

• Law degree and admission to practice as in‑house counsel.
• 6–8 years of post‑qualification experience, strong commercial contracting background.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• High integrity, ethics and sound professional judgment.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Dutch.
• Interest in leveraging AI‑enabled legal technologies and contract lifecycle management tools.
