Security & Compliance Manager - Defense Sector

About the role

Destinus develops and manufactures advanced UAV technology for defense, and is looking for a Security & Compliance Manager for the Netherlands. You will protect people, facilities, technologies and operations while meeting the demanding security and regulatory requirements of the defense sector. The role covers physical security, security operations, regulatory compliance, classified information protection and security awareness across Dutch facilities, working closely with global Security, IT, Compliance, Operations and leadership teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve physical security across production, engineering, office and storage facilities
• Run facility security risk assessments and turn risks into effective measures
• Manage CCTV, intrusion detection, electronic access control and other physical security systems, and coordinate security monitoring
• Develop incident response, emergency and escalation procedures, lead investigations and manage relationships with licensed security providers
• Ensure security personnel meet Dutch requirements (Beveiligingspas or legitimatiebewijs) and monitor their performance
• Drive compliance with Dutch defense security requirements (ABDO 2019, ABRO) and with MIVD and Bureau Industrieveiligheid requirements, including audits and facility authorisations
• Support security clearances (VGB) and the handling of NATO, EU and other classified information
• Support cybersecurity, business continuity, data protection and regulatory frameworks (Cyberbeveiligingswet, NIS2, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301, GDPR)
• Coordinate security audits, inspections and remediation, and strengthen supply chain and logistics security
• Build a security culture through awareness programs, training, drills and exercises

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Information Security, Engineering or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in corporate, military, government or industrial security
• Experience in defense, critical infrastructure, aerospace or another highly regulated environment
• Strong knowledge of Dutch defense security and classified information protection requirements
• Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory
