Senior Applied AI Engineer – Agent Runtime

About the role

datasnipper is building Alwin, an agentic automation platform for audit and finance. As a Senior Applied AI Engineer you will own the applied‑AI layer of the Agent Runtime, shaping how agents reason, use tools, manage long‑term context and improve over time.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain base agents, including system prompts, memory management and tool integration for document extraction, retrieval, sandboxes and MCP services.
• Implement agentic patterns such as sub‑agent composition, planning modes, human‑in‑the‑loop gates and multi‑model routing.
• Define and run automatic evaluation pipelines, extract signals from long trajectories, classify failure modes and continuously hill‑climb accuracy, latency and token cost.
• Collaborate with Agent Experience, Document Intelligence and AI Platform teams to turn requirements into self‑service runtime capabilities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production‑grade Python engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience shipping LLM‑powered products at scale, handling hallucinations, latency spikes, tool failures and cost management.
• Proven ability to build and evaluate agentic systems, including dataset creation, offline/online experiments and result‑driven improvements.
• Strong software architecture and system design background with reliable, well‑tested delivery.
