Senior Engineering Manager – Platform Infrastructure

About the role

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Databricks, you will lead a team that builds infrastructure and products for the Databricks platform at scale. You will work on resource‑management infrastructure, reliable services, and tools that enable multi‑cloud operations for big data and machine learning workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Hire and develop top‑tier engineers to create a high‑performing team.
• Provide clear feedback and mentorship to grow engineering leaders.
• Establish and enforce high technical standards through architecture reviews, testing, and a culture of engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define a long‑term roadmap.
• Coordinate execution across multiple teams to unblock cross‑cutting projects.

Required profile

• Proven ability to hire and develop engineering talent, especially leaders.
• Experience creating efficient processes that boost velocity and quality.
• Managed teams that build and operate high‑volume distributed systems in a SaaS environment.
• Track record scaling engineering teams from 5 to 30+ members.
• Team player who works effectively with other departments.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
