Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Outpost is building an AI‑driven global trade engine and needs a senior legal professional to shape its commercial, regulatory and governance framework. You will report to the Head of Tax & Legal and work across contracts, payments regulation, AML, corporate governance and fundraising.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and maintain commercial agreements such as MSAs, merchant contracts and partnership deals.
• Develop contract templates and playbooks that can scale with the business.
• Advise on payments regulation, including EMI, PSD2 and scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard).
• Build and maintain the AML policy, support KYC/KYB processes and prepare for audits.
• Support fundraising activities, including term sheets, investment documents and board matters.
• Research legal requirements for new market entry, work with local counsel and advise on entity structure and licensing.

Required profile

• In‑house legal experience at a payments company or fintech (e.g., Adyen, Stripe, Revolut) or private practice with a fintech focus.
• Demonstrated exposure to payments regulation, commercial contracts or AML.
• Ambitious to develop deep fintech legal expertise and progress toward a leadership role.
• Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast‑moving startup environment.

Required skills

• Strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Solid understanding of payments regulation (EMI, PSD2, Visa/Mastercard schemes).
• Experience building AML/compliance programmes.
• Knowledge of corporate governance and fundraising processes.
