Senior Legal Counsel – Projects

About the role

As a Senior Legal Counsel – Projects you will join APM Terminals’ global legal team, supporting strategic investment, development and infrastructure projects across either the IMEA or Europe region. You will act as a trusted legal business partner throughout the full project lifecycle, from investment origination to construction and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to Business Implementation Management and Regional Investments teams on infrastructure investment and development projects.
• Support investment phases, including concession tenders, joint ventures and strategic infrastructure investments.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage EPC contracts, construction agreements and concession-related documentation.
• Advise on legal and commercial risks such as delays, variations, performance security, defects liability, construction claims and dispute avoidance.
• Collaborate with regional legal teams, finance, tax, compliance and external counsel to deliver commercially focused legal support.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer from a recognised jurisdiction with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong background in international infrastructure, investment, construction and cross‑border joint‑venture projects.
• Deep expertise in construction law, EPC contracting and FIDIC‑based contracts.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical advice.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English; additional European languages are a plus.
