Senior Project Manager – Aerospace Projects

About the role

Airbus Netherlands is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of projects within its aerospace portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of 5‑15 members and ensure successful execution of contracts for solar arrays, launcher structures, and related systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate, and author proposals for new contract opportunities.
• Develop and maintain the overall project plan, including scope, schedule, risk management, resource allocation, and budget control.
• Lead a high‑performing project team, securing required resources and fostering motivation.
• Monitor project performance against schedule, cost, quality, and risk, providing regular reports to management and clients.
• Manage change requests, negotiate with clients, and ensure contractual compliance.
• Identify commercial opportunities within existing projects and support business growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience managing multifunctional technical teams, preferably in aerospace or a similar domain.
• Strong understanding of technical systems and processes with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution, and emotional‑intelligence skills.
• Academic or HBO degree (technical background preferred) with 2–5+ years of project‑lead experience in a technical environment.
• Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is a plus.
• Residency in the Netherlands and availability for a 40‑hour work week.
