Senior Software Engineer – ClickHouse Private (Remote)

About the role

ClickHouse Private is building cloud‑native capabilities for ClickHouse that run in customers’ Kubernetes environments, including regulated and disconnected deployments. As a senior software engineer you will shape the backend services and platform tooling that make installation, upgrade and support reliable for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services and platform features for ClickHouse Private, reusing Cloud components where appropriate.
• Adapt existing ClickHouse Cloud components for Kubernetes‑based deployments in customer‑controlled clouds and self‑hosted environments.
• Develop and maintain Helm charts, Kubernetes operators, and deployment tooling.
• Build pre‑flight validation, deterministic upgrade pipelines, health diagnostics and recovery mechanisms.
• Create release automation, define supported upgrade paths and improve failure diagnostics.
• Support regulated and network‑restricted deployments and work closely with support engineers on customer issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience delivering production software, especially infrastructure or platform systems.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (managed or self‑hosted) and Helm, including operators and controllers.
• Proficiency in Go (or willingness to work in Go) and solid software engineering practices.
• Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and solid Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to debug complex distributed systems across environments you do not control.
