Senior Software Engineer – .NET/Azure Tax Platform

About the role

Join Nextens, the leading tax and compliance platform in the Netherlands, as a Senior Software Engineer. You will own critical parts of a high‑volume, accuracy‑focused platform used daily by thousands of tax professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve core modules for tax filing and compliance, from solution design to long‑term maintenance.
• Apply modern engineering practices, including AI‑assisted development tools, to boost productivity and quality.
• Develop and improve back‑end and front‑end components, APIs, and integrations for a scalable platform handling large data volumes and complex tax logic.
• Collaborate with fiscal experts and product owners to translate regulatory changes into reliable software.
• Enhance engineering quality through testing, refactoring, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of hands‑on software development with demonstrated technical ownership.
• Strong quality mindset, including testing, refactoring, clean architecture, and coaching.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially when working with complex tax rules.
