Senior System Architect

About the role

QuantWare is seeking a Senior System Architect to lead system‑level design frameworks and tooling for its quantum processing units (QPUs). You will own the development of model‑based engineering tools, full‑stack quantum computer blueprints, and component libraries that enable deployment across global quantum and high‑performance computing infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

• Architect parameterized full‑stack quantum computer blueprints covering QPU requirements, thermal budgets, RF signal paths, cryogenic systems, and HPC integration.
• Develop and implement a Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool, defining system modeling structure, logic, and trade‑offs.
• Build, curate, and maintain standardized component libraries, identifying supply‑chain trade‑offs and interface risks.
• Define hardware‑software control interfaces that bridge classical HPC job schedulers (e.g., SLURM, Qaptiva) with QPU calibration and control layers.
• Partner with ecosystem managers to resolve cost, timeline, and interface mismatches between QPUs and third‑party components.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in complex systems engineering, system modeling, or multidisciplinary hardware architecture.
• Proven experience establishing MBSE methodologies in novel systems (SysML, Python‑based digital twins, or custom tools).
• Background with high‑CAPEX, chip‑based architectures, RF signal chains, and thermal management in aerospace, defense, HPC, or semiconductor equipment.
• Collaborative mindset with ownership from day one.
