Software Engineer – Build Digital Employee Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Freeday’s Digital Employee Management Platform squad. You will help clients configure, coach and manage digital employees by turning client input into clear, shippable product features.

Key responsibilities

• Translate client and implementation team input into scoped engineering work.
• Build backend features, integrations and platform improvements primarily using Python and Django.
• Write clear technical designs, ADRs and product notes.
• Collaborate with product, design, implementation and engineering teams.
• Develop integrations with systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Graph, Apaleo or Zendesk.
• Ship client‑specific projects while keeping the product scalable and practical.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend focus, comfortable with Python and pragmatic problem solving.
• Ability to work with ambiguous requirements, ask the right questions and define clear solutions.
• Fluent English and based in the Netherlands, able to work from the Rotterdam office regularly.
