Solutions Architect - Benelux Fungible

About the role

The Fungible team is the rapid-response squad within the Field Engineering organisation that engages with customers on the most strategic, highest-potential opportunities across Benelux and the Nordics to accelerate critical use cases, land technical wins, and drive successful Databricks adoption. As a Fungible Solutions Architect, you lead the technical strategy on time‑boxed, targeted engagements – typically one to five months – aimed at accelerating a specific set of critical customer workloads from evaluation to a production‑grade technical win.

Key responsibilities

• Accelerate strategic high‑profile opportunities and move critical workloads from evaluation toward production.
• Lead architecture design for scalable data engineering, ML/AI, and real‑time analytics solutions and conduct whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade‑off decisions with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrate Databricks differentiation in competitive, must‑win scenarios to win technical decisions.
• Establish momentum quickly in ambiguous situations and compress timelines without cutting corners.
• Package progress for clean hand‑off to core account teams and capture patterns for future engagements.

Required profile

• Several years (≈6+) of experience in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre‑sales or a senior hands‑on technical role.
• Hands‑on coding ability in Python and SQL, with capability to build, debug and demo solutions live.
• Deep knowledge of distributed data systems, cloud deployments (AWS, Azure or GCP), scalable pipelines, streaming and lakehouse patterns, including infrastructure, security and governance.
• Experience leading architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders, delivering design reviews, trade‑off analysis and translating architecture into business value.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, time‑boxed engagements with strong prioritisation and a preference for high‑impact variety.
