Systems Engineer – Pathology Scanners

About the role

Join Philips Digital & Computational Pathology to develop and maintain cutting‑edge pathology scanner solutions that improve cancer diagnostics and patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Design, integrate, test, and debug scanner components while communicating architectural impacts.
• Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to scale production of pathology scanners.
• Perform hands‑on systematic debugging, analysis, and present findings to senior engineers.
• Set up, script, and run product experiments, collect and analyze data using statistical techniques.
• Develop and maintain software tools for development, testing, or manufacturing.
• Contribute to project planning and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in applied physics, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a scientist, system engineer or designer, preferably in the medical industry.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with ability to investigate complex multidisciplinary technical issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills.

Required skills

• Optics, mechatronics, electronics knowledge.
• Embedded systems development.
• Scripting in Matlab and Python on Linux.
• Hardware testing and debugging.
• Image or signal processing algorithm implementation.

What we offer

• Base salary range €61,185 – €101,976 per year.
• Eligibility for performance‑based incentives linked to KPIs/company results.
• Hybrid work model with at least three days per week onsite.
