Team Lead - Compliance Investigations (EU MLRO)

About the role

Adyen is looking for an experienced AML compliance professional to lead its Compliance Investigations team in Amsterdam. The role combines hands‑on investigation work with strategic oversight of the SAR program, ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple EU jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of AML investigators, supporting First Line AML and Fraud operations and submitting SARs to local FIUs.
• Maintain and continuously improve the SAR program to meet all local regulatory reporting requirements.
• Drive strategic transformation of the end‑to‑end AML investigations process in collaboration with First Line teams.
• Develop and deliver reporting on financial‑crime trends and SAR insights for the wider organization.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external FIUs and regulatory bodies.
• Enable control testing and periodic internal audit of core SAR reporting processes.
• Coach and mentor team members to support their personal and professional growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of AML compliance experience, with at least 2 years in a team‑lead or managerial role.
• Deep knowledge of the EU AML/CFT regulatory landscape and best practices.
• Proven track record developing or advising on Transaction Monitoring and SAR frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong organisational and project‑management skills, able to drive transformation initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with experience managing regulator relationships.
• Passionate about building and mentoring high‑performing teams.
