Analytics Engineer Manager

About the role

This position leads the data foundation of a large‑scale digital business where data drives product, analytics and commercial decisions. You will combine people leadership, technical ownership and strategic influence to shape a modern analytics engineering function operating at significant scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers.
• Own data ingestion pipelines, transformation workflows and data‑warehouse orchestration.
• Design and maintain scalable data models for analytics and business reporting.
• Establish and govern a semantic layer to ensure consistent metric definitions.
• Drive automation across analytics‑engineering processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Set engineering best practices including CI/CD, code reviews, testing and version control.
• Improve platform performance, reliability, observability and data‑quality standards.
• Manage warehouse optimisation initiatives and control data‑platform costs.
• Partner with analytics, engineering and business teams to align data capabilities with business needs.
• Communicate platform strategy, priorities, risks and investment requirements to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong leadership experience managing Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in modern cloud‑based data platforms and large‑scale data‑warehousing environments.
• Extensive knowledge of ELT/ETL architecture, data modelling and orchestration frameworks.
• Proven ability to build reliable, observable and well‑governed data platforms.
• Understanding of data‑quality monitoring, testing and governance.
