Associate Director, Process Engineering

About the role

As an Associate Director Process Engineering at MSD Animal Health in Boxmeer, you will lead complex process system and equipment designs across multiple capital projects. Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with time, budget, and safety standards while guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process deliverables from concept through hand‑over for projects of varying size.
• Manage scope, schedule and cost, acting as a coach and influencer for project teams.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert for systems and equipment, reviewing supplier designs against engineering and safety standards.
• Coordinate with external design firms, ensuring cost‑effective solutions and quality integration.
• Maintain relationships with design and construction partners across Europe and support standardisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Pharmaceutical, Bio‑Pharma, Industrial, Process, Mechanical Engineering or Food Technology.
• 10+ years of design engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food or high‑tech capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of EudraLex Volume 4 GMP, EU GMP Annex 1, EHEDG and ISPE guidelines.
• Excellent English; Dutch is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for vendor site assignments.
