Change and Project Management Officer (Temporary)

About the role

The International Court of Justice seeks a temporary Change and Project Management Officer to act as the principal adviser on the renovation and asbestos remediation of the Peace Palace. The role is based in the Office of the Deputy‑Registrar and reports directly to the Deputy‑Registrar.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all project‑management activities to ensure effective implementation according to agreed plans.
• Organise consultation and information meetings with senior Registry management, department heads, the Staff Committee, host‑country representatives, the asbestos remediation team, the Carnegie Foundation and other institutions housed in the Peace Palace.
• Draft and circulate regular updates, change notices and notifications to relevant Registry units and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project development, analyse reports, identify issues, initiate corrective actions and ensure proper follow‑up.
• Research, analyse and present information from diverse sources to support decision‑making.
• Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analytical notes, report sections and studies.
• Coordinate relocation, moving and clearance activities between the Carnegie Foundation and the Registry, including site tours as required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Deputy‑Registrar.

Required profile

• Professionalism with a strong sense of pride in work and achievements.
• Knowledge of architecture, engineering, preservation and conservation of historic buildings.
• Proven experience as a project manager supporting large‑scale renovations in operational environments.
