Customs Associate

About the role

Flexport is looking for a Global Customs Associate to join its Customs Team in Amsterdam. You will help streamline clients' customs processes by preparing and filing documentation, ensuring compliance, and providing top‑level customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Digitally prepare and file all documentation required to customs clear goods (import & export).
• Review and organize incoming documents to ensure compliance with EU Customs Regulations.
• Classify products as necessary using GRIs.
• Identify the potential for the use of a Preferential Trade Agreement on a per‑shipment basis.
• Maintain excellent working relationships with clients by delivering service that exceeds expectations.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of current experience in customs.
• Dutch language skills are a plus.
• Ability to handle a large volume of entries.
• Familiarity with customs product classification and rulings.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong logistical problem‑solving abilities.
• Commitment to client happiness and willingness to challenge the status quo.
• High level of computer literacy; all processes are digital.
